Have had this air purifier for 4 months. Back then I was in dire need of an air purifier because my allergies were so severe that I hardly slept for several nights. I researched obsessively as always, but my budget of only being able to afford $200 or less was a major obstacle. Coway enters. Worked right away for my allergies, but I noticed on day one how loud it got at top speed. I looked into the noise as it helped clear the air until a few days ago when it turned on as it is in automatic mode. It accelerated to top speed where, as always, it was noisy. Moments later, it began shaking violently, smoking, and moments later plastic splinters began shooting through the top vent. It won't stop until we have to turn it off. A terrible situation, especially when it comes to my pregnant wife. To compound the issue, I attempted to contact Coway regarding this but received no response. I then tried to contact Revain and they had to tell me they couldn't help because it had been 4 months. What should I do now? I'm stuck in a $180 paperweight. You get what you pay for. You can get cheaper air purifiers without auto-tuning, but if you want auto-detection, pay more and get a quality unit.
