Not For Work - Cookie Cutter

Doesn't look like much but when I opened the package I noticed it doesn't feel very heavy like my older one which has served me well for over 20 years . I figured I'd give it a try anyway since I still have a bushel and a half of apples to use in apple butter, apple pie filling and applesauce. Unfortunately, with the first apple, it became clear that this device is not intended for work. I used a very large crunchy honey apple and it immediately stuck in the peel portion. I adjusted the tension and tried again and this time the prongs stopped holding the core and twisted in place and the apple got stuck in the core/cut section. I also noticed that part of the core cut was a little flimsy and folded back from the apple. I opted for smaller apples and tried Gala apples. They were too soft and also had the problem of the apple getting stuck halfway as the tines rotated around the core. The unit did a good job with smoked apples, but in the end the bending of the core cutting part broke the apples into chunks rather than nice round slices as one would expect from a product. This is a definite error and will be returned. It's never good when I have to peel, core and cut apples with a knife after less than a day of use.
