yes the thermos may not contain BPA but the outer mug you are drinking from smells very strongly of plastic perfume. So strong that I could smell it through the black tea, white tea, and beef broth I tried. Breathing in that weird chemical smell lying on your food is alarming. I bought two, returned the one I didn't use and will be looking for another brand. I thought Thermos was a trusted American brand. It turns out this is a Chinese brand and if you have a nose at all you will be uncomfortable with this poor quality product. I will never buy a thermos again.
