The mug you are drinking from smells strongly of plastic perfume

yes the thermos may not contain BPA but the outer mug you are drinking from smells very strongly of plastic perfume. So strong that I could smell it through the black tea, white tea, and beef broth I tried. Breathing in that weird chemical smell lying on your food is alarming. I bought two, returned the one I didn't use and will be looking for another brand. I thought Thermos was a trusted American brand. It turns out this is a Chinese brand and if you have a nose at all you will be…

Holds the heat very well.

If you want to keep dry/non-liquid food warm, YOU MUST PREHEAT IT! Pour boiling water and leave for a few minutes before adding food (heat food before eating). Don't buy too big either! In order for this to work as well as possible, you need to fill it up completely so as not to lose heat to the air space. I usually fill it up around 5:30 a.m. and eat lunch from it between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. It holds heat well enough that after about 6 hours I usually have to blow on the food to cool it…

Best brand on the market right now

A few years ago I used 40 oz. version and was very angry about it. For many long weeks I couldn't figure out how to clean it inside because the smell was awful and persistent. And one day it dawned on me that it was the smell of rancid motor oil. After that, I could effectively clean it without damaging the inside and use it. The stench prevented me from giving a good review of the product and I vowed not to buy the brand again. That was my punishment: no rating, no purchases. A few years…

Do not buy! Not sure!

Bought, used twice, the third time my wife poured warm soup into it. Around 1pm that day I tried to eat my soup but couldn't get the inner plastic lid off. I drive for a living so I tried it a few times and then gave up. I come home from work, I try to take it off again, rag in hand, it still doesn't move, I suggested that maybe a bunch of soup got into the threads of the plastic cap. So I took some channel locking pliers to help grab and open them to cast. I twisted it a bit and it exploded in

  • Too long to wait

In numbers: 15 hour half-life hot/cold

Double-walled steel vacuum containers have become fully marketable. We got this and the "Energify" container and compared their efficiency. In terms of materials and construction, the thermos is indistinguishable from inexpensive generics like Walmart's own brand Ozark Trail. Presumably they are all made in China in the same factories and to the same quality standards at the same prices. Materials: 1 Thermos 1 Energify container 1 Double-walled universal beaker with a temperature of 190°F…

Pros
  • Many positive vibes
Cons
  • There are shortcomings

Comparison of three popular thermoses with photos

I've posted detailed reviews of the top three stainless steel thermoses for food. This size, 16 oz and 10 oz. This option is my husband's favorite but it's too big for me. Ideally, you want a full thermos to keep it warm more efficiently, so it's better to have a container that roughly fits the amount of food you plan to eat than one that's too big. I prefer the 16oz version. (Links to links below) We live and work in a big city and use public transport, which means our bags get pushed and…
