As I (and many other reviewers) have pointed out, the ratchet straps that come with this bag (six total) are utterly useless. But don't worry, I used some lightweight ratchet straps and a 48 inch bungee and this bag went nowhere. By the way, the 48 inch bungee is perfect if you want to fill that bag full. with disobedient children. The zipper is made of durable material. And there are two zippers, just like in your luggage. The holes in the zipper tabs are quite large. Big enough to lock with a small padlock I think (I haven't tried this but it definitely looks like you can lock the zippers with a small padlock)***. SPECIAL NOTE: And if what you're going to be carrying/stowing isn't a 24" square, then don't kill yourself trying to find a 60x24 foldable cargo carrier that will fit in this bag.
