Requires 5 so I ordered a set of two and four sets (one for each option). BUT they were different! Both are black, but not exactly the same. They even had different code numbers on the packages, confirming the fact that they were indeed two different types. Although about the same size. Depends on what you prefer/need. There are two materials in the package: it stretches better, has a white (hidden) line at the bottom, and a seam that runs down the middle of the chair back (top). I have stools on the wider side so two pack material (more stretchy) was preferable for me. There was a thicker, less stretchy material in four packs, and I nearly ripped it trying to adjust it. It is also available in black (hidden seams at bottom) with no seams at top back. I suspect if your bar stool was small then this would be the best option for you. Now I have to return the refund, track it and make sure it gets returned and wait longer than the rest of the chair covers. . Revain should not offer these two lists together. B.C. they are two completely different options apart from having the same base color and size. They have a different fit
