Review on Pet Protective Collar by Laura Huddleston

My cat had surgery for a tumor on her face, after which the vet gave us this white plastic cone to put on her to prevent scratches. She didn't like it at all. Although the white plastic rescue cone was light, she could not see through it and was constantly frightened. So I went online and found this on Revain. Bought, tried, everything works. The trick is not to inflate the BooBooLoon too much or your pet will feel uncomfortable. It's sort of a built-in pillow for them (that is, from a human perspective). The only issue I had was that the four (4) circles of velcro that hold/close the BooBooLoon together are not that strong. The circles are about 0.75 inches in diameter, but you'll need to position the top and bottom circles perfectly to get a good fit. Sometimes, if your pet fidgets a lot (or if you have a really smart calico), it will find a way out. this thing if you don't secure it properly. Also, with frequent use, sometimes the fur gets caught on the sticky side of the Velcro, making it less effective. Velcro (which ironically I also bought from Revain) and fastens around the clasp as well as a "super safe" way of making sure my cat doesn't slip out. It's simple and reliable. UPDATE (6/18/12): I recently discovered a leak in both of my BooBooLoons. I thought at first that my cat might have pierced it with her teeth or something, but after 10 minutes of chasing I found a pin-sized hole around the inner circle of the 1st BooBooLoon and a slightly larger hole in the overlap/connection area of mine 2. BooBooLoon I smeared CA on the holes to patch it up. Let's see how long this lasts. I'm a little surprised it wears out so little before it "runs out". However, since there is currently no comparable product on the market, you have no choice but to try to fix it and see how long it lasts. Nice concept but wish it was made a little more difficult. UPDATE (6/22/12): The seller contacted me after reading my June 18 update post and offered to replace or refund my order. Wow, that is amazing customer service. I told them it wasn't necessary as crazy glue seemed to work well. My BoobooLoon is already in use. But if I have the opportunity to buy from this seller again I will definitely do it as they really care about the buyer even after the transaction is completed.
