BOTTOM HOLE TOO SMALL

I ordered these wooden laces to attach to the cord that opens and closes my attic door. However, the top hole that the cable goes through is just the right size. But the bottom hole is so small that you can't put a line through it, which is necessary for the line to work. My attic cord is regular gauge and I don't know of many cords that would fit these trains. Even the cords on my blinds, which are a bit thinner than the attic cord, don't go through those extremely small bottom holes on these cords. The thickness of the wood seems good though, hence 2 stars instead of 1. I really wanted these cords to work.
