I purchased this Chinese-made Moka pot because of the (lower than average) price and numerous positive reviews. Well, you get what you pay for! I cannot believe I purchased a traditionally Italian-made stovetop espresso maker that clearly states "Made in China”! Not good quality steel. Thin with rough edges on the top, that even snagged my dish towel and can cut through skin while washing. Crude manufacturing. Also, the handle is too small and too close to the hot pot. Knuckles can easily get burned and so NOT safe to use! My old pot was made in Italy and sold by (IKEA 2-cup espresso pot # 17014). Only had to replace the gasket, but the base somehow got cracked after 15 years of use. And I believe I only paid $20 back then. Oh how I wish it were still available!
