Maybe I just don't know how to curl my hair, but I felt uncomfortable curling it on the right side and on the back of my head (I'm right-handed). I had to use a hand mirror to see what was happening behind me. It definitely curled well, meaning the curls lasted for about a day and a half or two. I used Living Proof styling cream after blow drying or air drying. I also used Paul Mitchel Gel Spray and it works quite well, but I used regular Living Proof hairspray after the curls had cooled. The flat iron isn't wide enough for beachy waves on day one, but when the curls fall, it looks better.
