Pros: -Cheap -Does most of the job -Good image quality considering all aspects: -Not very good for color work as the contrast ratio is very low even after using a hardware color calibrator -White LED blurs colors a bit -Unboxing caused some nagging - impossible to install as the ports/controls are built into the base. Professionally I am a web developer/graphic designer as well as a digital artist. The image on this monitor is fine for light graphic work and writing code, saving links etc. but I use my Samsung as my main monitor for drawing/editing because the contrast/clarity of the image is much better than on this monitor . noted that I use a hardware color calibrator in both devices to keep them top notch and while it fixes a lot of issues, it doesn't fix all the blurring that some people talk about. In any case, this device is not bad as an additional monitor. It's on the brighter end and the LED washes out the colors a bit. I mainly use this to keep browser windows open, Netbeans, mIRC, as well as other applications essential to my work. This is normal and does its job well as a secondary device. For mission-critical color work, I'd look at a monitor other than this as my primary and certainly judge the image personally. This device didn't need to be premium and exceed my expectations and I only needed it primarily for a second monitor. For everyday use it does its job well and if I had to rely on it I could get by with it. but out of the box it would need to be calibrated/adjusted as some colors just didn't look right at the default settings. Colors aren't as saturated as some other monitors I've owned, and blurring is an obvious issue. After calibration, however, the color range is pretty good and I get a Delta-E averaging 1.2-1.4 with a calibrator that's not bad. There are some light stains but they are minimal, at least in my version. nor is it very deep black. UNPACKING: Oh, when I opened the box to get the monitor I got a little scared because the fuse was 'stuck'. I had to lay the LCD face down on the bed and very gently use the flat head to move the security switch to unlock it. I thought it got stuck during shipping but luckily it worked. However, it's still scary. I don't like having controls on the bottom block, mostly because I have to get up to use them on my desk. I'm not happy with the wiring either, mostly goes to the base. It feels like there could be mechanical failure in the future if the angle is adjusted too often. Also, I prefer the VESA mount on the back of the panel than having to deal with the base at all. I prefer the one that gets deleted whenever possible.
