Some protection against rabbits
I bought this to protect the charging cables from my rabbit who likes to chew on them. This provided some protection, and so far the MacBook's cable is still intact, but the rabbit managed to gnaw through the tube in several places. The handset will likely need to be replaced from time to time, but it's better than regularly swapping out an actual MacBook charger. I have no idea what the official use of this product is so I can't comment on it.
