Concentrated on avoiding crashing into a crowd, I crashed into a huge truck! Didn't scratch the truck but broke one of the tail light covers on my Astro. They are big and so expensive to replace that I decided to try this tape. It arrived quickly and I've had it for a few weeks now, but I rarely drive and haven't had a chance to try it until yesterday. ZOMG did such a great job! If it does come off in the rain I'll be back to take the stars off my rating but if it's weatherproof enough this tape is amazing. The tears and loss of plastic were enormous, but you had to look very closely to see if it was ever broken. I am very glad that I went this way. The packaging says to replace the cap ASAP, but I plan on putting it off as long as possible. UPDATE: It's been a little over three months since I installed this tape on my tail light. Wanted to do an update as most of us these days need to cut corners whenever and wherever possible. This Red Tail Light Repair Tape is AWESOME! One of the best buys on Amazon. The Astro is always parked outside, backside to the afternoon sun (in the tropics), all day, every day, we've had recent heavy rains and extreme temperature swings, and it's still like new. The Chevy Astro's taillight is huge, and mine fell apart in the middle. There are no big pieces. but that tape makes it look like it never ripped (unless you look closely), and the tape on the roll will likely survive at least two more repairs. I may never need to replace this light cap. All for two dollars and change! However, highly recommended. UPDATE: It's been almost two years since I first used this tape on my broken XL Chevy Astro taillight. One roll was enough to make the light twice with little left over. bought a second roll as a backup; haven't had to use it yet. This tail light band didn't have any protection from the brutal tropical sun and heavy rains, but the first job lasted over a year and the second one is still looking good. almost didn't buy it because it looked like it did on tv, too good to be true. If there are things you need more than new taillights, this tape will definitely work for you.
