They really protect your battery!

I have used these NCP2 battery clips along with anti-corrosion spray on three different vehicles for several years. They do their job; I haven't seen the buildup I saw on each of my transport batteries every few months. I like her.

One or two on Car Care

It should be obvious that you are getting two spacers to protect a battery. I personally think the two pack designation is something that misses the point. I thought I would get 4 pads. Why did they even mention 2 packs other than to confuse the customer it pretty much sums up why you would ever buy a notebook!

Seems to work

I have a car that has always leaked more acid than the other two cars. I couldn't figure out why so I decided to look for other solutions. I'm not entirely sure if they're effective, but for the price, why not give it a try. Be careful when unpacking as they are heavily contaminated with thick oil. I've been wearing them for about a month now and they seem to be working. It's true, only a month has passed so only time will tell. I will update this post if anything changes.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Nissan brand battery has problems with this

. They are thicker and well lubricated. Unfortunately I tried them on a Nissan dealer brand battery which seems to have unusually short battery contacts that are tapered at the top. When you put the felt ring on, there is not enough space on the strut to fully connect and tighten the Nissan battery connectors. So I can't use them on Nissan. They will probably work on my other cars with larger battery terminals.

Pros
  • . High marks for support and durability from testers.
Cons
  • . Slightly torn.

I don't know if they still work, but I'm sure they will.

I never used them in my car until a few years ago I had the battery replaced and the guy gave me a set of cheap batteries. I didn't know what they were for or what purpose they served. Since having them on my battery I have never experienced the type of corrosion I have had in the past. I bought them to replace an old one as permanent preventive maintenance. The only thing I would have liked would have been color coding (red/black) to match the polarity of the batteries. That being said I'mโ€ฆ

Prevents corrosion very well

Sooner or later all battery pins and terminals will corrode if you don't use these anti-corrosion washers or some other protection. I like the protective screens because after installation they continue to protect against corrosion without additional treatment. Most cars now have very thin metal connectors instead of the old heavy duty lead connectors that used to come from the factory and it doesn't take much corrosion to completely eat through these new thin metal connectors. These new typeโ€ฆ

Much better than the old red/green felt pads I used.

March 2019 Update: Still a great product but the price has tripled since I last bought them years ago! I will look for alternatives because $10+ is too much for this product! First review: I've always used the RED & GREEN felt protectors from the dealership that they give you when you buy a new battery. Also, I would buy a small packet of petroleum jelly-like gel to cover the connectors. Well, times have changed. These protectors, along with NOCO's red spray, are light years ahead of my oldโ€ฆ

Adaptability and Performance

I have used other seals in the past and they have always been marginally effective in preventing corrosion. So far they have worked. The main goal is to raise the terminal a bit to prevent it from coming into contact with any acid that may have been expelled from the vents. This acid is corrosive. The other pads had just soaked up the acid and the corrosion was still there. These haven't made it yet. A longer evaluation will determine if they make it in the end. Another plus is that they adaptโ€ฆ

Work great but don't buy too many like me.

I'm a big fan of AGM batteries. Lead acid just doesn't cut anymore, but I'm cheap too. All my big vehicles have big stereos and Northstar batteries, buy once, cry once. then there's a commuter car with a red-haired foster child who doesn't actually drive that often with a Costco lead-acid battery. I was afraid the clamps would corrode. I tried to buy CRC batter cleaner and protective coating. It did a really good job of removing the mess, but it didn't really do much to prevent corrosion.
