I have used other seals in the past and they have always been marginally effective in preventing corrosion. So far they have worked. The main goal is to raise the terminal a bit to prevent it from coming into contact with any acid that may have been expelled from the vents. This acid is corrosive. The other pads had just soaked up the acid and the corrosion was still there. These haven't made it yet. A longer evaluation will determine if they make it in the end. Another plus is that they adapt to different post sizes. They are standard automotive size, but you can remove a small ring of material for other industrial applications with larger racks.
