🔍 32oz Rust Converter and Primer - One-Step Removal and Surface Priming for Rust Review

I'm saying this but it's only been a few months. Everything went as expected and a solid coating formed. I've painted over some of these and the color has held up well so far. The time will show.

I removed all the surface rust in a few hours of sanding and sanding. Then I carefully cleaned the surface. After application, the surface began to rust again. I took some POR 15 and applied it to the same surface and it worked great.

follow the instructions. The product works well, turning the peeled rust into a black oxide. Rust must be brushed or lightly sanded, not stripped down to bare metal. Only treats the top coat, when applied to flash rust only the top coat is treated. Once this layer is peeled off or brushed off, the bottom layer will not be processed. It is not a sealer product so loose rust must be removed for best results.

This used to be available at Walmart, but Rustolium and other paint manufacturers have blurred the lines with their "rust inhibitors" and "rust preventers" and so on. If no CONVERTER is listed, it is not a converter. This material chemically combines with rust (oxidized iron) to form a black primer. Everything else is paint and primer. YOUR RUST BECOMES A PRIMER, leaving not a single piece of rust on your project to fester.

This stuff works really well, it didn't convert the rust as well as I thought it would, but it did a darn good paint job. I might use it in too cold weather (around 55-60F). I'll try again when it gets warmer. However, I would like to say this: ADCOAT has the best customer service I have had in a long, long time. Just as good as the Eastwood brand, works as advertised. It won't fix a car's peeling rusty bucket, but it does work very well on surface rust. Larger patches of rust still need to be cut out - rust that this can't penetrate will come back. I use this primarily to treat light rust and prevent future rust when cutting body surfaces or removing paint for any reason. It also works well on some patio furniture. This thing is amazing. Easy to use and requires little preparation. I got carried away and used it for a few things lol. First used on my jeep. There were a few rust spots. First I took a wire brush to the drill and tapped off the chipped paint (peeling paint) and then cleaned off the rust a bit. Just to dilute it and remove any loose rust. Then washed. I am very happy that I received this product. It does what it says on the bottle. Check out the YouTube video they have about it. It works exactly like this. I have used it on my truck frame and it works great after cleaning the frame with wire brushes, scrapers, sandpaper and power tools.
