Review on ACDelco 45D2181 Professional Suspension Assembly by Douglas Coronado

Revainrating 4 out of 5

ACDelco vs. NAPA on aftermarket

I have used this ball joint on many vehicles, particularly Ford (F350 in 1995-2003 era) that came unserviced (lubricated). It "looks" almost like the blocks used by NAPA, with reinforced blue grease seals (while most of them are black). For the last 2-3 years all ball joints have been shipped in boxes proudly labeled "MADE IN THE USA". The last device bought at the end of 2012 was labeled "Made in Taiwan". I was surprised the next time I ordered a Raybestos unit (505-1181) which was also made in Taiwan and looked identical to the ACDelco unit. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because it was made in Taiwan. Plus, with "Made in the USA" purchases, it's always been a great device.

Pros
  • Coated for corrosion resistance and long life
Cons
  • Slightly torn
