I must have been unlucky with gold dollars lately. I have the red scaled version which has a great border. Although this razor bears the same markings, it appears to have no cutting edge. And I can sharpen and I know what I'm doing. The blade was badly pre-sharpened, the cutting edge was uneven. The spine was of uneven thickness and inferior even by the standards of gold dollars. There seems to be something wrong with these gold dollars lately. The blade has not been properly hardened and tempered. It was less than $20, but I mean, you get a little bit proud of your company and your work, you know? I may never buy a gold dollar again. I run 50% to actually get the benefit at this point.
