Better than Sponge
These are better for heavier filters, my 2 Fluval 50s just push the sponge too hard causing the water to flow out, they offer the same protection but don't impede the flow, my only one Problem was getting them to stand up 16mm it was such a pain but now they are on and in the right position no problem. and the filters fit perfectly, maybe they need to make 17-18mm to make it easier to fit, but overall a great product so I'm buying another set of 2 for my smaller tank.
