I used this with an Akaso DL12 backup camera in the mirror. It worked great with a mirror and was long enough to reach the back bumper of the truck, where I installed my camera. I routed the wire from the passenger side of the firewall and down into the guide frame to the bottom of the back of the frame. After everything was done I had about 5 feet of slack in the wire. The weird thing is that in the wire that came with the mirror there was only one extra red wire to connect to the reversing lights. This wire has two: solid red and red-black. I used a solid red wire. I'm not sure what that's for second wire is The wire proved to be of the same good quality as that supplied with the mirror.
