These headlights are pretty dark - which is both a good and a bad thing. They barely give enough light to move around at night unless your eyes are dark-adapted. If you've just turned off the main/ceiling light, it will take a few seconds for your eyes to adjust to the light they emit to see. If you get up late at night when your eyes are already 100% used to the dark, they are bright enough for the room they are in. Light doesn't "wander" really well around corners etc - if you have one of these connected to a bathroom and a separate room (in the same bathroom) as the toilet, they don't give enough light to see the toilet late at night.
