Mine arrived with both sides of the steel base plate scratched and worn. This will still happen and of course has no repercussions, but it would be nice to get a product that looks like new. Once assembled, it's reliable - no play or wobble, polycarbonate cuts smoothly with no misaligned holes or misalignment. It stays where you put it on the table - none of our cats managed to knock it over, which is not the case with the ends of the bookshelves. Nice low profile and just what you need to have a solid footing. Assembly is very easy - you may need some Locktite - on the base with screws and a shelf with an inconsistent appearance.
