I didn't seriously consider using a dog harness until the free harness I bought came along. The free one was rubbish but by using it I realized how handy it is and also much safer for my beloved dog in case of an accident or even a sudden breakdown. If you have a dog that likes to climb into the front seat, or in our case, pokes its head behind the driver's seat belt causing the driver to flinch at the most inconvenient times, a seat belt for your furry friend would be your solution, I can't believe how much it took the stress out of taking our dogs for rides! The first was attached to the car's seat belt buckle. This works but is not ideal as it will result in the pup tripping over the belt. When the strap is attached to the headrest, it is at a level where it can move more freely, which makes more sense to me. I like the quality of this seat belt as well as the amount of stretch it has. He can only pull a little, so it doesn't pull him back, but it doesn't let him into our space either. The difference in length is significant. I wish it was a little shorter but overall it's just right and I'm planning to buy a second one for our other dog who we placed in the 3rd row. He behaves better in a car than a husky but I want one for him for safety reasons. I'm ridiculously happy with this seat belt!
