The obvious first problem was that the LED connector pins were bent. The second sign was with thermal paste on the board and on several capacitors. There was also discoloration or staining on one of the heatsinks near the CPU socket. The other heatsink without the plastic wrap had scratches on it. The processor protection cover was not included with this board. The big plus was that there was a lot of thermal paste on the CPU socket itself, which blocked the holes and created the potential for all kinds of shorts. I believe ASUS was one of the best in the business. But this lack of quality control and/or the intentional delivery of a board that was horribly returned or repaired and not noted in the product description is very disappointing. When assembling an expensive device, have high hopes for quality. This experience lagged behind by leaps and bounds.
