This is a great concept and probably still a fair price just for the housing, small hook set and other items in the kit but the thread used is not suitable for tatting. It's not mercerized, which means it's "fuzzy" and has a lot of friction when you try to tighten it. I ended up breaking the thread before it completely covered the circle. I like the travel bag. There are the included hook pouches and my Clover Amours as well as two additional pouches for shuttles, scissors and my tatting needles and a nice lower space for yarn. This great set has almost everything you need except needles! I bought this kit to knit jewelry and earrings. Obviously I don't need a ton of yarn to knit such a small thing, so having so many colors to choose from is great. I've already made a few earrings and I really liked them. The hooks that come with the kit are great, I LOVE the handles. Yarn cutters are also very good, very sharp.
