Laura Zukaite, Author, This book was inspired by the craft traditions she observed on her travels in South America. You can definitely see this inspiration in many aspects of her designs, from her wide range of color palettes, her use of rich and bold colors to neutral and basic colors, and the variety of stitches she uses. The beautiful color photos show Laura's designs using a variety of stitches such as herringbone and cables, ruffles, stripes, geometric patterns and other eye-catching motifs. The patterns in this book are actually incredibly straight forward and I was amazed at how easy it was to follow the instructions. And the photos have definitely come in handy to keep me informed and to make sure that I get the stitches right and will continue to do so. I particularly loved that Inspired Shawls caters to knitters of all skill levels, although I'm not a beginner knitter, I haven't knitted in a while so I know there are things I've forgotten. Overall, I can definitely say that I think Inspirational Shawls is something that should be in every knitter's library.
