Review on Headphone Jack Removal Tool - Headphone Plug Extractor with Multiple Tube Sizes and Jack Remover by Rusty Calcara

Didn't work for me

The headphone jack in the iPad port is broken. I was hoping there would be a way to fit short or long hoses into the headphone jack. Don't believe the video. It is not enough to press the tube against the book. I tried to lightly hammer the short tube with the handle of a screwdriver. The edges at both ends of the short tube were warped. So second and last chance with a longer hose. I encountered such resistance that I literally hit the pipe with a hammer. I would say the pressure I tried to apply was stronger than tapping but much easier than nailing. If it were stronger I think I would damage my iPad. Eventually the pipe was so pinched I used pliers to pry it out. Unfortunately the connector is still stuck. It turned out that the pipe was not deep enough and the pipe was crushed. So I lost $10 with an issue that needs fixing and the connector on my iPad is looking a little worn. I love do-it-yourself projects and I knew I was going for something that looked too easy. Perhaps you can all learn from my experience and save money on better repairs. In the end the hose was sufficiently clamped and I used pliers to pull it out.
