I used this camera for a number of years; in theory, it is a good tool in capable hands, allowing you to shoot good pictures, but you will require photo editing skills, especially in the area of noise removal:) Even quite large batteries quickly run out of power, and the spare set is expensive and difficult to take about. Different advantages include: + Strong zoom + Quick setup + Manual mode + Good picture stabilizer + Excellent macro + Potential for Significant Functional Expansion Through CHDK + Writes Good Video with Stereo Sound + Flip Display Cons: Has a very noisy matrix (noise in almost all shots at any ISO, even the midday sky is noisy), a small matrix (therefore the big depth of field and the actual noise), an inadequately wide angle at the near end, and a lens that lathers at the borders of the frame.
