Review on TECHEF AG28BK Portable Butane Burner by Kenny Kowalewski

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I literally got rid of the oven!

What started as an efficiency-boosting business ended up as this little gem. let me explain. For many years I cooked on a 5 burner propane stove which was appropriate at the time as we had a large family. But the stove was cavernous, heated very slowly, and the burner rings deformed easily. After replacing the thermostat and other expensive parts in my oven and several hundred dollar burner calls, I was over it. I started researching available options and wasn't sure if I needed another series. It was around this time that I discovered the Breville Air countertop stove. I bought it and immediately liked it. Keeper Stove Problem Solved Now my search turned to the burners/cooktops. Since I use a pressure cooker daily, I really only needed one burner. I researched and bought an induction burner. I've been using it for a while and I'm very happy with it. But living in Maine, I needed some sort of backup burner that didn't depend on electricity. After searching YouTube for alternative stoves, I discovered butane gas burners. I've learned that butane is a survivalist's favorite and is cooked on the table in Korea, Japan, etc. Fabulous! After doing some more research on Revain I bought this burner. When I arrived, I unpacked it and was immediately struck by its clean, lightweight design. I put in a butane gas bottle and lit it. I was immediately amazed. The beautiful blue flame adapts to both low and high boiling temperatures to bring everything to a boil very quickly. And the sound this thing makes when it lights up is amazing - it's a gentle "woosh" that I just love! It's very fuel efficient, it's lightweight so it's easy to move around for cleaning, and the top is removable for quick cleaning in the sink. Butane canisters snap easily into place and are held firmly in place with a magnet. To get started, simply turn the knob all the way to the left. No additional switch needs to be actuated. It looks great on my countertop. This unit was intended to serve as a backup burner in the event of a power outage, but ended up becoming my main cooking burner. With the Breville oven, my microwave, the pressure cooker and this awesome little burner, I have everything I need to prepare tasty and healthy meals very efficiently. As a result, I got rid of my bulky, fuel-guzzling, and difficult-to-clean propane stove. In its place I have a new stainless steel rack with shelves for Breville and its accessories and a nice wicker basket to hold my extra butane cans for my stove. While not necessarily ideal for large families, at the moment it's mostly just my husband and I and this setup is perfect for us. I am very happy with the burner and will buy another one if needed. second burner. Or just because I love it so much I really wouldn't mind watching another one!
