I've always used tablet cleaners for drips in the tank but decided to give this one a try. It was fairly easy to set up and install, although a lot depends on the type of system you have in your tank, so do your research first. . I had to use a different hose for some of these as the one supplied was too short as I had to hang up the system and where the connections were. After I figured everything out, which only took a few minutes, everything worked great. Some say this device smells strongly of chlorine, I didn't smell it myself at first. After a few days you can sometimes pick up a very faint hint of it for a second or two and that's it. never mind It works like a charm and keeps the bowl cleaner than anything I've ever tried. The only downside I see is the cost, depending on your perspective. You have to replace the filter and it's pretty cheap, but maybe not over time. As many have mentioned, there is a way to swap out the block so you can use much cheaper replacement pads without having to buy a whole new filter. For this reason alone I give 4 instead of 5 stars.
