We just noticed that our PT-100 read too high at 83 and it definitely wasn't that hot, more like 73-76. I noticed that the display is a bit dim, including a missing decimal, and thought maybe the battery was dead. We replaced the battery and it showed 75 degrees. I don't like this denial mode. The display should turn off BEFORE the temperature reading becomes abnormal. The user is likely to get bad readings for a while before "realizing" that they're wrong. The device looks "professional" and inspires confidence that may not be entirely successful. My confidence in the readings as a whole has now diminished and I think we need to get another thermometer now. How it is.
