Please consider this fact.

I used this on my DIY office desk, based on other reviews I thought it was the best choice for countertop mounting for power on the desk, somehow I didn't want the cables to come out of the hang down desk. Unfortunately, I did not test this with the intended hardware before installing it. It wasn't until I finished the whole table that I realized that this outlet couldn't handle enough current to power the monitor and laptop charger at the same time. :( My laptop charger didn't work with this outlet extender (not to mention I tested the charger and it worked fine with every other outlet in the house). Please note that the power supply/equipment that powers this Outlet working, may not be working for the project.
