Review on ACDelco 15236987 Original Equipment Speaker by William Groupp

Ordered one of these 6" ACDelco 15236987 GM Original Equipment front door radio speakers for a 2004 Suburban LT (BOSE PREMIUM SPEAKER SYSTEM (glove box code UQ7)). The speakers in my car were original After purchasing the Jensen VX7020 6.2" Multimedia Touch Screen Dual Speaker Car Radio Receiver. The first speaker I received matched my factory GM Bose speaker perfectly and was easy to install as these speakers simply snapped in and out of the oblong holes in the door frame.After seeing I had the correct part, I ordered the exact same part from Amazon (supplied and sold by Revain as 'Prime' as before) 2. Speaker in the front door, after I received this speaker it was shipped again in the original box marked GM A C Delco. However, the tape used to secure the box, which appeared to be burglar-proof, was different (clear packaging, not heavy-duty rolled tape). The second speaker delivered had visible scratches with dents and creases on the metal casing. It seems that returning items sold as new is becoming more and more common at Revain these days. I repackaged my 2nd order and sent it back for a full refund. Then I ordered exactly the same speaker for the 3rd time and again received a non-new speaker that was installed like my 2nd order (scratches and dents). , only this time it was covered in dust and dirt, as if it had been installed in a dusty construction vehicle. In desperation, I boxed the 1st speaker (new and fine - still brand new with no scratches or damage) along with my 3rd speaker order and returned both in their original packaging for a full refund on both. I want to put the speakers in when I get 2 new speakers that are really new, unused. Maybe it's luck, I don't know. I'm currently looking for another source for these speakers (Any suggestions?). The speakers are not new but feature heavy magnets with very high quality durable Bose fabric and a rubber weather shield covering the back of the speaker to protect it from moisture in the Chevy Silverado/Suburban front door. Definitely not waterproof. This is an issue Silverados has experienced when water has entered through the inner door panel of the window and has dripped onto the back of this type of speaker along the speaker wire onto the connectors, magnet and cloth, causing failures in some cases. However, better waterproof than traditional car speakers. The sound quality of these speakers is excellent. Also, these are 4 ohm speakers (instead of the usual 8 ohm speakers) specifically designed for GM BOSE systems. I've had good luck with Revain AC Delco parts in the past (water pump, thermostat, alternator, coolant hoses, spark plugs, spark plug wires, battery wires, fuel filter, oil filter, air filter, temperature sensors, stepper motors for faulty sensors in my specific model, and more). Although they are no longer made in America (usually in Mexico, Taiwan, Canada and sometimes China), they all seem authentic and all fit me. I do some research to make sure they don't send me a part that doesn't fit my car, so I don't usually return Revain AC Delco parts. However, this time it didn't work, very disappointed.
