They look good, don't have an unpleasant or bad smell, last a long, long time and can take a lot of abuse from me, plus they help the environment. To be honest I love it but if it didn't work better than other sponges on the market I wouldn't buy it. They never scratch my pans, nonstick or stainless steel, they clean them. Easily washable and they get a lot of wear and tear from me. I use them not only on dishes but also on cabinets, walls and woodwork, I wet one, I put it in the microwave every now and then for about a minute and that serves two purposes, firstly it disinfects the sponge and secondly secondly, if you refrigerate it for a minute or so, you'll be surprised at how easy it is to remove the moist heat from inside your microwave.
