Perfect for an elegant velvet look

This order came as a complete surprise! I needed dining chairs - the ones I had were wooden and everyone complained about how uncomfortable they were - so I needed an alternative that wouldn't break the bank. I rent an apartment and don't want to invest too much in nice chairs (I know it sounds ridiculous, but I love furniture and am always buying new things). table and was surprised at how much I loved them when they arrived. Yes, the upholstery material is velvet, so it does have issues with velvet - it needs regular hand brushing in one direction to keep it from discoloring or looking aged, which is my biggest cosmetic issue with velvet. My favorite part of these chairs is the backrest because the piping around the backrest is nicely done, it has clean lines and it's well made. The tufting has a pleasant depth and contributes a lot to the overall picture. Chairs tend to feel solid and heavy rather than light, cheap, or uncomfortable. It took about five minutes to make each chair. When they arrived the box said Cocoa, not Taupe. I didn't have a great idea of the color in the photos but I needed something in the brown family so I decided to just give them a try. They have a beautiful shade of taupe that goes well with black, brown, white, red and gray furniture. The pair came in a box. The build quality and looks are great and everyone in the house really loves these chairs. My only complaint would be that the very edges of the seat, facing away from the backrest, don't feel padded enough. I'm not sure why they are so flat, but I've noticed that the edges of the seat don't bend when you sit down, which is what happens with my other pair of quilted velvet chairs. I definitely recommend them if you like the elegant tufted velvet look. Mine are no longer placeholders, I'm keeping them and will probably be ordering another pair soon.
