Definitely worth the money

My husband assembled it easily but he used a hammer to get the pins in better. The steps are wider than we have seen and tried. 55 pound mixed pit bull. We have a high king bed which she finds difficult to get up on due to her arthritis. As we live on a ranch it takes constant practice to get her onto the Pet Gear Easy Step II Extra Wide Pet Ladder as she rarely climbs stairs. I've learned to give her special treats when she lets me help her up the stairs. Her width gives her a secure feeling, she doesn't panic when she stands on it. nervous. To get her used to the steps, we left her in the living room next to the sofa that she can jump on herself. Sometimes I would work with her to climb the steps to the couch. Then we climbed the steps to the bedroom ( light and easy in movement) and strongly recommend her to use and treat with my help. I wondered if she would ever use them and watched our cat sit on the steps. I had a feeling that at least someone liked her. Then maybe the sight of the cat on her steps prompted our dog to try again. She hasn't really climbed them on her own yet, but since she understands that it's less painful than jumping, I'm sure she will use them. I don't regret buying them because they look neat and the stair carpet doesn't slip like some do.
