I like the IRIS training pad better than the metal playpen I bought for my dog. The panels are made of plastic, so they can be used outdoors without rusting. I originally used it internally when potty training a puppy. When the other handle got rusty I started using the IRIS handle on the outside. They work both indoors and outdoors and their panels are durable. There are empty spots on the back of the panels where grass clippings and dust stick, making these areas difficult to keep clean. I wish these patches were solid plastic. I think if I had a pressure washer it would be easier to keep them clean, but a small brush and hose works well. However, the grass stains the white panels. I don't like poles at all. The caps at the top of each pole will pop or break and fall off. They started coming loose right after purchase when used indoors on a tiled floor. Even if the tops are superglued back onto the bars, they won't stay in place. I tried a few different types of glue but none of them worked. Once the top of the rack is removed, it fits completely into the top slots on the panels. This makes it very difficult to pull out the rods to separate the panels. If you lift 2 panels, the column will fall through. The fact that they fall through makes them difficult to wear with one of the pre-assembled pairs. The poles are pointed at the ends but cannot be stuck into the ground because they are too short to do so once connected. Panel. Once the tip is off the post there is nothing to hold onto to drive the post into the ground as the top of the post is hidden in the panel connectors. *** I really wish the poles were longer so they could be pushed into the ground and still not break the tips. *** It would also be very helpful if the tops of the poles were more secure. Once the top is removed, the metal post will begin to rust. I'm pretty sure they're starting to hold water because they're hollow and have a closed end at the bottom. While you can buy a kennel with doors, getting into the kennel is not easy for a human. without removing the frame and dividing the panels. This would have worked well if the bars weren't getting stuck from the tips bouncing off. I wish there was a panel with a door that an adult could use. Overall I think the IRIS practice pen is worth it as the panels are good quality and they worked for my needs. I think with some improvements to the sticks this is going to be an amazing product!
