Over the years we have bought many of these cymbals - mainly small and medium sized although we have also bought 2 large - and they have all held up well except for the big one - the inner coating collapsed over a period of two years. As it can be difficult to determine which slab size suits your needs, I have included photos comparing three of them (large, medium and small) in relation to each other. We bought a large bowl when my daughter bought her corn snake 2 years ago and although we have kept it clean and never used abrasive cleaners the interior coating has deteriorated and the inside of the bowl is very rough and stained. We can rule out limescale deposits because Lyra only receives bottled water. We recently bought a replacement slab and now use an old wet moss slab to increase the moisture content when it sheds (it also likes to burrow into it despite being over 4ft long) and we use the new one as her daily meal with water. I'm sure that if this record breaks, we'll buy another one too. Aside from this issue, we've been using them for years with no problems. They're heavy, so they stay in place, and various reptiles (snakes, skinks, and lizards) can't knock them over. I will definitely continue to buy this brand when needed.
