M2 technology offers faster I/O than most SSDs. They're currently limited to a maximum of 1TB, but for data drives or swap space, you get noticeable improvements by using M2 drives. It fits into a standard 3.5" drive bay and allows you to connect up to 4 M2 devices to the system. Each with its own SATA connector. It worked right out of the box, no special discs needed.
