I like nice colors and since we have 4 Schipperke (all black and same size) I bought these (2) collars for our puppies to tell them apart. The colors are real and dyed through the whole skin. They will not cause the hair to tangle around the dog's neck. My ONLY disappointment is that the leather ring you attach the end of the collar to is too big. Several times a day I have to take the free end of the collar and thread it back into the loop. They are inexpensive and should last for years. However, I am very frustrated that I cannot rely on the extra length of each collar to stay in place, so I will be replacing it with another brand. Had I not missed the return date due to the holidays and the need for the collars I would have sent them back or asked for a replacement; maybe the too loose loop was just a "bad day" at quality control?
