You get what you pay for.
For what it was supposed to do, it worked. However, the product is cheaply made, the USB3 connector felt sharp at the mating edge, and also didn't want to easily hit the surface of the Pro 7. The connectors on the device don't stay connected like cables do when you unplug it. I ended up getting cables to connect the device to the Surface Pro so at least I know the device is working as advertised. Would I recommend this product, no. Bite the bullet and get the recommended dock.
