This product has allowed me to connect my fairly new iPhone to a fairly old car stereo and charge it at the same time. Worked well - but not for long. The Apple Lightning cable has been working in my car for 2 years without any problems. But the Lightning connector on this product started to corrode after about 2 months. Half the time I was able to charge the phone but I couldn't hear it. Not a shocking surprise given the low price. I recently upgraded to the OontZ Angle 3 portable bluetooth speaker, which sounds great and doesn't require a cable.
