Let me be short and sweet. I currently have a real Adcom GFA-5802 amplifier, GFP-750 preamp, new Sony HAP-1Zes music streamer, Teac TN-400 turntable all feeding Thiel CS2.3 speakers and an SVS subwoofer . I had speakers from Definitive Technology, NAD, Rotel. I'm trying to put together a college graduation gift for my son who loves music and wanted the best I could buy for around $2,000 for everything. I was beyond skeptical about these Sony SSCS3 speakers and now have a pair of Definitive Technology M65 speakers. They will not be opened. They return. These Sony towers are $159 each. run, don't walk I promise you that in 3 years you won't be able to buy them at this price. I play them alongside my Thiels and it annoys me a little that they are so good.
