Screws attaching faceplates to drawers are too short to hold them. (Instructions for Step 12) So plan a trip to the Big Box store to buy something that works. The screws included and required in the instructions in step 12 are 8" x 3/4". However, the file drawer uses 1/2" particle board and is approximately 1/8" or 3/16" from the front edge of the drawer sides (all with pre-drilled holes). Board to hold it to the front of the file drawer. Needless to say it doesn't grip or hold the decorative front at all.I called Bush Furniture customer service and they said they hadn't received any complaints about this. The lady I spoke to was polite and said she would would write to their manager about the problem but you would think if a buyer pointed out a clear design flaw there would be an office to call and send to double check the problem and see the enclosed bolt pack and the Instruction manual on. He said. They may have already fixed the problem and at some point in the past offloaded all the boxes of inferior goods at a discount to all online sellers. Who knows? It's a mystery why this issue wasn't discovered during their own testing of the product - aren't they trying to assemble some of these themselves to double check? These are pretty good filing cabinets fit for a home office for the price and all other directions are clear and all parts are present and clearly labeled. But 1/2 inch plus 1/8 inch subtracted from 3/4 inch is only 1/8 inch. Quite easy. No one who has ever worked with wood could expect a screw to hold if it was only 1/8 inch inside. In fact, it doesn't hold up in solid oak at all, let alone chipboard like that. So plan a trip to the Big Box hardware store to get longer screws for this step - I'll probably try the #8 x 1 inch sheet metal screws, which have a thread and head very similar to the shorter screws in the kit. I still wonder why they did such a thorough job of developing and maintaining high quality control on all parts but overlooked such an obvious issue. (By the way, if you don't have the patience with disassembled furniture like this and aren't good with tools and assembly, this can turn out to be quite a large project. Ask a friend for help if you don't have any IKEA experience and other similar types of furniture that need to be assembled.)
