So the directions are not that good. I understand that using a drill is a reasonable suggestion since most people have drills. But I found something that works much better. Use a Dremel tool to cut out the plastic. I did this on my second seat and it was a lot easier and less messy. I was also able to make cleaner cuts and less fiddling with the foam padding inside. However, it is not easy to avoid removing too much spacer and being able to make a good connection between the two parts. In trying to make sure I don't cut off too much plastic and then get a secure fit, I found it really difficult to take the foam padding off and hold the two pieces together. In fact I managed it on one seat, on the second I'm still trying to keep it in place. My next plan is to actually glue the two pieces together because I don't think the "click" system will hold up well unless you get it perfect. It still works and other than that I'm incredibly happy that my seat belts are in the best position for safety etc. But it would be better if they develop a simpler and safer interlocking system between the parts. Incidentally, YouTube videos are much more helpful than written installation instructions. But as I said if you have a dremel use it to cut out the pieces and just drill the rounded corners.
