If you're new to straight razors, BUY THIS RAZOR! I'm one of those newbies and I bought two cheap razors from the store, one and the other for about the same price (because who wants to spend $100 on something they're unsure about, right?). First came another straight razor so I shaved with it for about two weeks and even though I sharpened and trimmed it it was still quite painful to shave and I could never get a very close shave no matter how hard I tried. tries to. I just used it this morning and it was way better than the other cheap razor that arrived first. All along I thought my discomfort was entirely my own work, when in fact it was just a blade I was using. As I said, I'm new to this shaving method, but even I can tell you there was a huge difference between this razor and another cheap razor I've tried; this one was 100% better!
