I hate when I get a micro USB cable that extends 30cm from the connector and is almost useless. Also, you often get cheap cables that are only useful / don't work for every electronic device. I've settled on some of these longer braided micro USB cables and they are well worth it. Good strong cable, the length of which is sufficient. There were no problems with simply charging the device or transferring data.
