Review on 🚲 Topeak TriBag Frame Bike Bag, Black, Large - Perfect Storage Companion for 6.5 x 4 x 1.5 Inch Essentials by Mark Loredo

Room for a large smartphone but the flexible design really bothers

This bag is the same height but about 1.5 inches longer than the regular Topeak top tube. There are plenty of top tube pockets and most are long enough to hold a standard power bar, which is ideal for people who carry power bars in these pockets (so they can eat the bars mid-ride). Some people like to keep their smartphones in a top pocket, and modern smartphones are longer than chargers, hence the oversized pocket. I really wanted to like this bag, but it has several flaws that make it uncomfortable to use. Most importantly, the extra length means it hits my knees regularly, even when I'm in the saddle and pedaling. A bag with a standard size top tube never touches my knees when I'm seated. A standard sized top tube bag will get me in the knees rocking the bike from the saddle while climbing or running, and this extra long bag certainly does the same. Unlike some other brands of bags, this one attaches to the bottom of the stem with just one strap (others have 2 straps). In addition, there are no stiffening ribs inside the fabric. The bag tends to tip back and forth, causing it to hit one of my knees even harder. Regular riders can handle constant knee strikes with this bag, but I suspect the triathletes this bag is named after won't.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
