Says auto open works fine / auto close is not auto but manual to reset springs and length. Closing the ad on click is misleading OR I just can't figure out that the auto close feature works! / A bit heavy for a human due to the size of the canopy and construction. Put it back in your pocket tightly so it doesn't snap - wouldn't like it if used A LOT. The description of the thought made the item look more like a simple one-handed operation, in any case it still needs to be checked and found out if it somehow automatically closes as advertised, but it seems unlikely. Too expensive for automatic opening and manual closing when the workmanship, materials and construction are not as good as they seem. Due to the size, something heavy closed or open is expected. Looks great in wind and rain, strong looking shaft and as compact as a reg one. Expect it to last quite a while and perform well if not used frequently. Good canopy design to protect two people. 3-star rating as unverified and I think it's still a misconception that AUTO CLOSE isn't a real feature. Overall I think it's top notch so the extra cost seems like a good investment compared to breaking umbrellas and downsizing but cheaper making. Better than the TOTE brand, of course. ---------------------- UPDATE UPDATE - It flipped on first use with light rain and less than 10mph wind. Very surprised by the excellent construction, especially the windproof construction at the top that allows the wind to pass through the small canopy of the second layer. / The auto-open button may require multiple opening attempts. A NOTICE; The springs are under good tension, so forceful pressure is required to close them manually. / Dry well so the shaft doesn't rust! / 1 star added to rating - BUY UPDATE - has kept me dry several times in stormy rain. NEED TO HAVE! Added 5th STAR to rating after using it many times in rainy Florida. UPDATE UPDATE - DO NOT take 1 STAR for the good fit to return it to your storage bag. Mainly because I don't often need an umbrella. UPDATE April 2014 - rain bag - good size. I can't really protect it in strong winds as it's usually just rain with light winds. And when I use it I'm usually on a bike so it makes it difficult to keep dry when I'm handling it. I recommend it as probably one of Revain's best. UPDATE August 2016 -- Owned for 4 1/2 years --- Very very rarely used as I'm retired but works fine when needed.
