I had a Redragon Lavawolf mouse for about six years. I actively used this device every day and made hundreds of thousands of clicks with it without any problems. If you don't break a million. I had to punch under my arm hard and it came out unharmed. Although parts of it began to wear out due to rough mechanical action, I still hid it as a spare mouse. That being said, I knew it was time for an upgrade. Initially, I researched other brands looking for something that could improve my workflow. Switching from a basic Logitech mouse to Lavawulf gave me +2 buttons (not counting the DPI variable, which I don't change very often for myself, but it's very useful for letting other people use my computer on rare occasions ). These +2's have greatly improved my workflow over time and also given me a better ability to work in games. I've always been dissatisfied with most 10+ button mice on the market as I'm not a serious MMO player and very few games seem to make this arrangement practical. Not to mention most work environments. I wanted something with 2-5 buttons available. After reflecting on how well my Lava Wolf had served me, I returned to Redragon. And I had to search a little, but in the end I found what I wanted. And it was this mouse. And I'm very, very glad that I did. This mouse has three buttons on the left where my Lavawolf had two, and it has an additional button to the left of the left mouse button; for some reason it says ACTION BUTTON or something like that. It's just another important input. The competing mouse I was looking at had five buttons on the left. And while I'm sure I could get used to it, I think I made the best choice in terms of practical workflow. I wish they would try to add another button to this kind of configuration? Yes, for a reason I will explain below. I am not satisfied? Not at all. All 9 mouse buttons are programmable, but you'll probably only program four of them. The other five are two clicks, two dpi buttons, and a middle mouse click. PRO: quality. The processing quality is very good. The material has been improved over my original lava wolf. Feels smooth in the hand, doesn't feel like it absorbs sebum easily, the buttons feel hard and tight. The mouse is bigger too, which is nice because my hand completely covered the lava wolf and almost touched my mat. Thumb placement is convenient in various places. I can keep my thumb on the left button for a while while playing, although it eventually sinks back into the groove it was designed for. Little problem. Perhaps the keys should ideally be in a groove? But then you have an increased risk of unintentional clicks. The button to the left of the left click is super ergonomic in my opinion. My biggest problem right now is remembering it's there, but once I've done that I feel like it's very easy to use. PRO: Ergonomics and functionality. How I use my mouse for the workflow: Page Up, Right Ctrl and Page Down for the side buttons. And my button to the left of the left click is the right alt key. This gives me an almost full range of keyboard shortcuts that are performed exclusively with the right hand. Which is incredibly handy. Plus, of course, dealing with it has taught me keyboard shortcuts in browsers and apps that I wouldn't otherwise have known about. Not only that, but for games within games that allow Ctrl+ and Alt+ combinations, I can now use a large amount of keystrokes without moving my WSAD hand. PERSONAL REVIEW: +1 additional button. Trust me it's +1 extra mouse button so I can use right shift in the same way. It's not really necessary as I can use the Shift key very easily while typing. But for quick access when working with the mouse or for games, especially games that allow Shift+ combinations, I could further tweak my actions. CONS: Find your model and associated driver. Driver. The drivers themselves, although barebones, work very well. This is not a problem. The fact is that the packaging is the same for different mice. My mouse came with product placement and an ad for a mouse I did not purchase. But that fit into the same package. Doubly there are no specific instructions for finding drivers. Attempting to use this mouse's drivers didn't work and I had to play around with 'similar' drivers before deciding to just google the product name on this Amazon sales page. IT got me where I needed to be and gave me the right driver. I really don't want to hit the bill for it. But in the end, it's a pretty decent bug that they need to fix. By the way, I didn't have this problem with my Lavawolf.
